There are definitely advantages, to evolving alongside another species.
Humans and dogs have co evolved for thousands of years and it seems that our furry companions might have undergone some changes along the way.
They can be a bit less fierce than their ancestors, who were known for their hunting skills.
Many people adopt dogs hoping that they will be protectors of their homes.
However as any other dog owner would agree our beloved four legged friends have lost some of their "instincts. Gained a certain level of, well lets say innocence or lack of intelligence.
From being brave to being a bit silly they bring us joy in ways.
Take this example of a dog with its doggie door.
Even though the owner held the door open, for the pup it couldn't quite grasp how to go through it
Instead relying on its problem solving skills (or lack thereof) the dog ended up barging through the screen door
Some dogs even seem self aware. When an owner walked into a room filled with piles of pillow fluff scattered over the floor they instantly knew they had stumbled upon a crime scene.How long did the investigation take you may ask? It barely lasted 10 seconds. The dog, in question actually wandered in by itself when the owner discovered it facing the wall. If only humans could be as straightforward and honest!
Have you ever come across a dog with a tolerance for frustration?
We enjoy challenging our dogs problem solving abilities. This particular dog owner captured a video of their mixed breed Frenchie retrieving sticks from a basin filled with water.
However there was one stick that kept falling into the basin. Thinking that the container was playing tricks the next shot showed the dog vigorously shaking the basin as if it owed something to the dog.
Dogs perceive us differently.
Some dogs view their owners as leaders of their pack, providers or even family members. However some dogs see humans as objects or accessories.
There was a case where a dog sat on its owners face as if he were part of the furniture. Such blatant disrespect!
Over time dogs have lost some of their innate hunting instincts.
Nowadays dogs simply wait for their food bowls to be magically filled up during mealtime. Some even go beyond that. Push boundaries.
Imagine yourself cooking a meal, for your family when suddenly you hear the sound of a dog bowl.
Before you know it your furry companion starts carrying their bowl as if they're saying, "Well since I'm part of the family that meal must be, for me."
