The relationship between a dog and its owner is something that can’t be touched, and this story proves that perfectly.
Daniel Hove an Air Force veteran-turned-assistant fire chief had to sleep in hospital after receiving his first pancreatic cancer diagnosis, his family and friends went to support him with Gunnar, his 11-year-old dog, who stayed by his owner’s side approximately the entire time.
Sadly, Hove was having a very bad situation in his final years due to cancer, and the dog never left his side. ‘’They were best friends, they were family”, said Heather Nicoletti, Hove’s daughter.
She added that Gunnar also fell sick in Hove’s final days!
The dog was also unresponsive when Hove was Unresponsive! Gunnar was unconscious one day, so, he was directly rushed to the vet and unfortunately died there.
The weird thing was that the veteran died an hour and a half later.
Nicoletti said that despite her upset after losing her dad, but she thanked God that Hove did not have to suffer the loss of best friend. She also added that Gunnar was destroyed because of her dad’s sickness. RIP Hove & Gunnar.
