Emaciated Frightened Dog Found Curled Up On Driveway

A dog, named Roxy was discovered in a state described as "skin and bone " indicating long term neglect. Found near a bush on a driveway, in Boxted between Sudbury and Colchester on April 21st Roxy, a three year douge de Bordeaux crossbreed was rescued by Emma Fowler. The RSPCA has initiated efforts to locate Roxys owners following this discovery.



RSPCA inspector Nicky Thorne expressed concern for Roxys condition upon her discovery behind the bush where she appeared fearful and resigned. Despite growling at Emma Roxy warmed up to her after receiving treats from neighbors. It was evident that Roxy had endured prolonged neglect given her emaciated appearance with bones and ribs.



Roxys alarming state prompted Ms. Fowler to seek assistance immediately at which point the RSPCA was alerted due, to concerns of prolonged neglect.She expressed her surprise at finding Roxy nestled on our driveway. She was relieved to see that Roxy had discovered a spot while waiting for help. She extended her gratitude to the veterinarians for accommodating Roxy on a Sunday.



Roxy appeared malnourished and excessively thin at sight. Her demeanor changed once she realized that they were there to assist her.

Roxys microchip led back, to a residence in Halstead. The RSPCA has been in contact, with her owners, who mentioned rehoming her in September.



Upon visiting the property the residents informed the RSPCA that she had been rehomed by a man named Rob year.
