At least 27 passengers sustained injuries after a government bus overturned near Murugananthapuram in Tirunelveli district, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The incident occurred when a bus carrying approximately 60 passengers was traveling from Tiruchendur to Nagercoil. According to officials, the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle as it reached the Murugananthapuram area near Koodankulam, causing it to overturn on the roadside .
Emergency response teams, including ambulances, fire and rescue personnel, and local police, rushed to the scene shortly after the accident to assist in rescuing the trapped passengers .
All 27 injured passengers were promptly transported to Koodankulam General Hospital for medical treatment. Officials have confirmed that the injuries sustained were minor in nature .
