Bratty Kid Kicks Their Airplane Seat So He Teaches His Family A Lesson

Air travel is one of the most convenient ways to get around, but it’s not always smooth flying. Sometimes, passengers encounter unexpected annoyances—like an unruly child kicking their seat nonstop. And when the parents refuse to intervene, the situation can get frustrating fast.

That’s exactly what happened in this Reddit story, where a fed-up father decided to give a misbehaving kid—and his entitled parents—a taste of their own medicine.

**Obligatory Note:** *Sorry for formatting—I’m on mobile.*

A few years ago, my dad and I (14F at the time) were on a budget airline’s overnight flight home from India. The plane was cramped, everyone was exhausted, and legroom was practically nonexistent.

Ten minutes after takeoff, the boy behind me—around 9 or 10 years old—started kicking my seat. **Hard.**

I told my dad, who politely asked the kid to stop. The kicking paused… for about **10 seconds** before starting right back up. When my dad asked again, more firmly this time, the parents ignored us.

### **Time for Payback**

Fed up, my dad **reclined his seat all the way**—right into the space of the kid’s mom behind him.

**Entitled Dad (ED):** *"This man reclined his seat, and my wife is uncomfortable!"*

The flight attendant (FA) walked over and asked my dad:

**FA:** *"Would you like to keep your seat reclined?"*

**My Dad (smiling):** *"Yes, please."*

**FA (to ED):** *"Well, he can if he wants to. That’s not his problem. Have a nice flight."*

With that, the FA walked off, leaving the dad **fuming** under his breath.

### **The Aftermath**

After some harsh whispers, the parents finally got their kid to stop kicking. But that didn’t stop them from **glaring** at us—and the flight attendant—for the rest of the flight.

My dad kept his seat reclined for another hour, just to make sure they’d **learned their lesson**, before finally putting it back up.

**Moral of the story?** If you don’t parent your kid on a flight, don’t be surprised when someone else does it for you.

*(And yes, the flight attendant was an absolute legend.)*
