The Only Living Albino Orangutan In The World, Gets Her Own Island To Live In

Away from the people who may hurt her, the only living albino orangutan in the world can now live the rest of her life in her own personal island sanctuary in Borneo.

The orangutan, Alba, is really unique among the orangutans, who’re in danger of extinct, because of a rare genetic disorder.

Alba, who has a white coat, gets his color because of a rare genetic condition called albinism. A genetic mutation, that stops the production of melanin or at least slows it down, according to the National Institutes of Health.

The unique animal will surely live the rest of her life without the dangers of humans in a man-made island. Watch the video below.
